Welcome to the Eta Zeta Chapter of Beta Theta Pi

What is Beta?

Beta Theta Pi at Northeastern was established in 2009, and since its inception has grown to over 70 brothers total. Beta is founded on the mission of developing Men of Principle. But what does that mean? It means that we have a focus on developing our members into leaders, encouraging and celebrating a wide array of interests, all while enjoying the company of our brothers. In the past year we’ve raised over $1500 to Camp Sunshine and have had the highest GPA of social fraternities on campus for 3 semesters in a row. I wouldn’t be the same person today if it weren’t for the social and developmental opportunities Beta has given me. The brothers aren’t simply my friends, they’re my family. If any of that interests you whatsoever I strongly encourage you to come out to Rush and check out Beta, you won’t regret it!

One of the highlights of many brothers recent experience was our weekend on the Cape. Brothers traveled to Cape Cod to enjoy some oceanside fun. The weekend offered unparalleled opportunities for the involved men of Beta to bond over vacation activities.

College has been a very formative time in my life. I’ve been lucky to spend it with men who push me closer to the best version of myself every day. Beta encourages open mindedness and respectful disagreement in a way that prepares bridge building, which presently I think the world could use a lot more of.

Among the favorite events of the brothers is the Beta Cook-Off. Split up into several teams and assigned a region of the world, brothers compete to make the best 3 course meal. Of course, the event culminates in a fraternity buffet meal!

Among the favorite rush events was the kayaking of the Charles River in Boston. Opportunities like these offer potential new members and brothers the chance to get to know each other through enjoyable activities.

rushing

Rushing is the opportunity for brothers to get to know the potential new members and for potential new members to decide if they see themselves in this society of men. Events are designed to foster conversation and build relationships.
